Georgetown Loop Railroad

I got a fun surprise on Saturday…Mummy and Daddy took me to Georgetown for a ride on the Georgetown Loop Railroad!  We got in the car after lunch and I took a little snooze on the ride up, which made Mummy happy.  When we got there we walked around the cute little town for a bit.  At a little gift shop we looked in they had an old-fashioned sofa fountain (seriously old…it was original from 1910!) and we all got a black and white malt.  Mmmmmmmm, I loved my malt!!  After we got malts we stopped in a little toy shop (so little that my BOB couldn’t turn around and could only go forward and backward) and I got an old stuffed toy with a button on the belly that talked and made music.  I love it!

We still had some time until the train ride so we walked over to the town park and what turned out to be the best playground ever!!!  There were different sections for different ages and one part was even built around a big tree!  The only part that was not so fun was that the slides and plastic parts (a lot was wood) were too hot to touch as I found out the hard way.  I had so much fun playing!

It was finally time to ride the train!  No strollers are allowed on the train so I got to sit with Mummy in the Ergo.  I did great and spent a lot of the time hugging Mummy with my head down on her…she loved that a lot!  I did periodically pop up to look at the sights.  I especially loved when we went over or by the creeks and waterfalls.  I would point and say “wa-ter!”  The train went from Georgetown to Silver Plume.  Silver Plume was pretty boring.  There was a big room with some old trains in it but there was a lot of dirty and dangerous things around so I couldn’t really run around as much as I wanted.  It was ok though since we were only there for about 20 minutes anyway.  I was getting kind of tired on the ride back but it was a little after 4 pm by the time we got back so we decided to get dinner before the drive home since I was hungry too.

We went to The Happy Cooker in Georgetown and it was pretty good.  I had some ravioli and carrots from my diaper bad as well as some peaches from Daddy’s plate and some veggie burritos from Mummy’s place.  When we were done Mummy got me changed into a clean diaper and some jammies for the ride home since it was bedtime.  I fell asleep in the car for a little bit but was awake by the time we got home.  When we got home, we stopped by to see Miss Wanda and she gave me some really cool hard foam blocks that are bright colors.  I love them!!  After visiting for a bit, I had a bottle and was fast asleep seconds after being put down.

What a fun day!

What a Super Fun Saturday!

Today we celebrated Father’s Day one day early.  Mummy flies to Florida tomorrow so we moved it to today.  Oh boy, what a fun day it was!!!

My day started early at The Little Gym with another fun gymnastics class.  I got to roll, swing, balance, play with balls and bubbles and generally run around like a mad man!  The gym has summer camps so it was decorated with pirate stuff and it was so cool to look at – I especially loved the parrot and the monkeys.  After class we took Daddy to a Father’s Day brunch at The Egg and I.  I was pretty hungry and ate all of my graham crackers as soon as we sat down then had eggs, potatoes and toast with OJ.  I was pretty pooped and took a 2 hour nap as soon as we got home.

When I woke up, we played downstairs for a while and Mummy made me lunch.  Daddy had a “spa day” for 2 hours so left right when I was starting lunch.  I ate about half of a peach, some shredded cheese and a sourdough pizza Mummy made that had my favorite, black olives, on it – yum!  I am now taking all of my meals standing on my picnic table at the kitchen counter.  Mummy doesn’t love it, but it makes me soooo happy so she lets me.  The bonus is that instead of wiping my food all over the floor when I am done, I just climb back down and go play 🙂

After lunch we met Miss Laura and Miss Shelby at the mall play area.  I was pretty tired when we got in the car so we only stayed for about an hour because I needed a nap.  We had fun running around, but the best part was the chalk table!!  It was so much fun scribbling and erasing and trying out each of the three chalkboard picnic tables.  I even ate a piece – YUK!!  I got very, very messy and Mummy had to take me to the bathroom to clean me up.

When I got up from my second nap (and it was not a great nap, but it was better than nothing) we got back in the car, this time with Daddy.  We went to Mt. Fuji, a hibachi place, and met Miss Laura, Mr. Chris, and Miss Shelby!!  We had a blast running all over the restaurant and outside while we waited for the food.  It was fun…usually Mummy and Daddy make me stay in the high chair the whole time.  We loved watching the chef cooking the food and making the cool volcano.

The fire at the beginning was not as scary as it was the first time I saw it.  Miss Shelby got a little scared though…it is definitely scary teh first time!!  We were both mesmerized by all the action and watching the chef cook everything!!  I ate a lot too!  I had a bowl of tofu, fried rice, fried tofu and veggies and a few noodles.  That was just at dinner.  Before dinner I had part of an apple, a bunch of cheerios, a slice of tomato and some of Mummy’s salad.

After we sat down I got a big surprise – Nana Foo Foo!!!  She just pops up all over the place!  I was so happy to see her 🙂  I kept peeking over to smile at her during dinner.  After dinner we got out to play again.  The big fun part was the rock pit.  I climbed right on in and Shelby did too (with a little help)…and we stomped and stomped on those rocks.  SO. MUCH. FUN!!!    When we had enough of the rocks (well, when the grown up had enough) we went back outside and ran all over.  I found flowers and bikes and steps.  Miss Shelby ran in circles up some steps and down a ramp.  I played hide and seek with Nana Foo Foo and she taught me how to play in between a cool bike rack.  Fun! Fun! Fun!  Mummy took more videos but they are taking a long time to upload so they will be posted a little later – stay tuned!!  Miss Laura posted about our fun day too.

I was very, very tired, but very happy.  We went home and despite all I ate, I downed 7 oz of milk and zonked out.

Here are some photos:

I can eat an apple!!!

Tonight, Mummy handed me an apple from the fruit bowl I was reaching for.  She thought I was going to play with it like a ball.  Nope!!  I picked it up and took a bite…and kept on eating it.  I can eat an apple like a grown up!!!  I loved it too!  Mummy got some photos and a video too.  No, I am not suddenly tall enough to look over the counter.  Another one of my new “tricks” is pushing my table up against the counter and climbing up so I can stand on the table and watch Mummy cook.  It is my favorite place to be!

Here is a video of me eating my apple:

While not a “trick” one of my favorite new things to do is lay in Nicholas’ bed.  It is brand new, smells like cedar and is oh so soft.  Nicholas would probably rather be in there than have me there, but I just love it so he lets me hang out there when I want to.  Usually it is in the morning or evening or before naps when I am tired.

Dipping, Cookies and My Shadow

I learned a cool new skill and discovered something cool!

The new skill I learned is dipping.  This morning, Daddy put some ketchup on my plate and showed me how to dip my eggs and potatoes in it.  I caught on FAST and am VERY good at dipping.  I am even very neat when I dip.  I was also having blueberries with breakfast and I dipped those too!

Here is a video of me dipping my dinner in more ketchup:

The cool thing I discovered tonight is my shadow!!  There is a lot of sunlight on the dinner table during dinnertime and tonight I noticed the shadow of my hand on the table.  COOL!!  I kept poking at it, trying to wipe it off the table and looking under the table to find it.

Here is a video of me and my shadow:

Another fun thing happened at dinner.  I was having an after dinner fig newton but really wanted the whole package.  Mummy figured all I would do would be to take out one more but I had a different idea.  I took out every single cookie and took one tiny bite of each one, LOL.  I did scrunch up a few, but mostly I was happy to just take a little taste of each one. Then, when I had sampled each cookie, I helped Mummy put them all back in the package.

Here is a video of me and the cookies:

Just for fun, here is a video of me playing with my bubble machine outside:

Throwing Peas and Playing UNO

Mummy and Daddy taught me a fun game they will probably regret later.  Throwing peas into open mouths!!  First Mummy was thrwing them into Daddy’s mouth – he even caught some.  I thought that was pretty cool and funny.  Pretty soon I started opening my mouth wanting her to throw some my way too.  I had a late snack so wasn’t very hungry, despite loving peas normally but this got me eating more. I did catch a few peas in my mouth too, but Mummy was doing the throwing and she couldn’t get it on video too.  By the way, the photo of the plate of food is a typical dinner for me…I eat a LOT!!  I drink lots of milk too…1.5 gallons per week!!

Here is a video of me opening my mouth for peas:

Here is a video of me eating nicely from a plate:

Tonight, I discovered that I love cards!!  There was a set of UNO cards in a domino tin I was playing with.  I spend almost 30 minutes playing with the cards.  SO. MUCH. FUN!!  Here are two videos of me playing with my cards:

My nose itches!!

Here are some photos too…check out the first photo ever where I smiled for the camera, on purpose!

Bubbles, Climbing and Kissing the Dog

Mummy and Daddy got me a cool bubble machine! It makes TONS of bubbles and I love trying to catch and pop them. We mostly do the bubbles inside, but once in a while I get to do just a few bubbles inside too.

My other cool new toy is a blue hula hoop from the grocery store. It is just my size, shiny and makes a shaker sound when I move it. I love to carry it arround, shake it and put it on the dog.

Climbing is still my number one favorite thing to do and I can really good at it!! I can climb onto just bout everything, including my music table that I can now STAND on!! Mummy does not love that one bit.

My second favorite thing? Kissing the dog. Big, sloppy, open mouth kisses – YUCKO says Mummy, but I love it!!
